Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies any results. Our systems do not retain or log the terms submitted in those searches.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Information Collected Automatically
When a visitor loads a page, standard server and analytics systems may collect these technical details:

No Criminal-Record Database
McKinley County Criminal History does not own, compile, store, or sell a database of anyone's criminal-record information. It publishes reference material about requesting records from the McKinley County Sheriff's Office, local courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety central repository, and New Mexico OffenderWatch. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes found on this website. Information submitted there is handled under that company's privacy policy. We do not control a partner's retention, use, or disclosure rules, so review those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law enforcement offices, New Mexico agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's policy controls the visit. Check that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use activity across websites to choose targeted ads. Their own systems perform that tracking.

Personal data is not sold by us. Limited information may be available to:
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

We use customary safeguards for the information under our control. No internet service can guarantee complete security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.

This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

New Mexico's Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978 §§14-2-1 through 14-2-12, governs access to public agency records, while NMSA 1978 §29-10-6 limits inspection of repository arrest information to the person concerned, counsel, or an authorized agent. Those laws apply to government-held records and do not turn this private website into a records custodian. For information we hold, you may:

- Request deletion of information about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
